Technology Brief

With a team of engineers experienced in transformer technology, LKE is able to design and build transformers that have the following features:

- Lower partial discharge

Although vacuum resin casting technology is widely applied in the industry, minor air bubbles remain trapped within the coil, as the technology does not generate an absolute vacuum chamber within the earth's atmosphere. Therefore LKE resorts to applying sophisticated processes to reduce the presence of air within the coil and insulation material. In order to minimize bubbles in the coil and resin, we cast at an optimized level of vacuum, at an optimised casting temperature using an optimised casting methodology. This successfully proven process was derived after long research and it results in a product with a partial discharge level lower than the general requirement. LKE 10 kV transformer can achieve less than 5 pC partial discharge, and 20-35 kV transformers cam achieve less than 10 pC of partial discharge. This level of partial discharge is lower than the requirements of IEC 60076-11, with the result being the product posses a longer operational life time and higher reliability.

- lower noise level & lower power losses

LKE constantly improves on its existing transformer designs. Using the latest software LKE is able to simulate, analysize and identify causes of undesirable transformer electromagnetism and noise resonation. By constantly modifying and testing these modified designs, LKE is able to optimise the electromagnetic fi eld and magnetic fl ux density, reduce power loss and reduce noise resonation. This allows LKE to build a quieter and more effi cient power transformer ideally suited for urban applications
